Alexej Sachov
Alexej Sachov is a Ukrainian-German conceptual artist working with photography, in single captures made underwater: he sets the conditions, the sea composes the image. Organisms drawn to his light write a code in one exposure; light through rising bubbles takes volume; marine debris released in weightlessness collides into figures the strobe fixes. A trace in nature becomes matter, light becomes sculpture, chance becomes form. Shown in Aesthetica Art Prize exhibitions at York Art Gallery and Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate, at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Tampa, and Technische Sammlungen Dresden. Solo booths 2026: AIPAD, Park Avenue Armory, New York, and Photo Basel. The Knight: Best of Photo Basel 2024 (The Guardian, PhMuseum).
Resonant Light: five artists
"Resonant Light explores what happens between light, matter, memory, technology, nature, and perception. It begins with things that are often almost impossible to hold onto: a shift in light, an intuition, a memory, a fragment of code, a trace left in matter or nature. The artist catches the signal, transforms it, amplifies it, and passes it on. Light becomes sculpture. Code becomes matter. Memory becomes image. And the viewer becomes part of the resonance." Organised by Rukh Art Hub, New York, and Maison Bulle. Full programme: rukharthub.com/resonant-light.
